Mother's Day 2012

First things first. We hadn't planned to do it yet, but the threat of a broken neck prompted an early transition into toddler beds. It turns out that restricting binky use to the crib only results in x-games style aerial maneuvers. Here they are in their new beds....

Mother's Day was pretty great. Gym class followed by a picnic in the park....

And we finished the day having dinner with the mothers that have put up with 35+ years of misbehavior. Happy Mother's Day to all!

Weekends

It doesn't take much to make these two happy these days. Collecting rocks and throwing them in the creek ranks right up there with getting dessert and watching the Wiggles (does anyone else find them a little creepy?).

We are sticking around for most weekends, packing up the house and getting ready for the move, which we are all excited about, especially Alex...

Not as excited about whatever mischief Brynn has in store next....

Catching up....

Let me introduce the newest members of our family, "Goldie" & "Boon." They were a second birthday gift and have become beloved (although often stinky) members of the family. In case you weren't sure, they were indeed named by the munchkins.

 

 We had a lovely passover weekend.....

Sometimes we are in pajamas before we find the afikomen.... 

And then Easter brought beach weather, a prelude to the fun summer ahead....

Sandy days call for manditory bath nights. I know they are my kids, but they are ridiculously cute sometimes....

Spring

 It is already spring and we have been remiss in taking pictures and keeping up with posting. We are enjoying the warm weather and some new birthday gifts....

By the way, if anyone knows who gave us this wagon for our birthday, please let us know. It came in the mail with no note or packing slip (we hope it was for us). We use it every day!

We were reading books in the kids bedroom and I was reminded of this picture of Alex from when he was a wee one...

Two!

They're 2. I can't believe it. They are such little people. The day started with birthday balloons and that probably would've been enough to make them happy....

From breakfast to dinner, they spent the day blowing out candles...

And loving every minute of it!

Less than a month until birthday #2!

AZ

We went to the desert, it was beautiful, but it was cold! Our one and only pool adventure ended in near hypothermia and a lot of tears. Not because they were freezing mind you, but because they had to leave the water. These two are stubborn. So we found adventures elsewhere.

And at a nearby farm with a very cool petting zoo.....

Brynn and Alex are almost two and the speed at which they are learning to talk is so cool. They are stringing together 4 and 5 word sentences. Most of these are actually demands such as "I want (up, binky, milk, wine, beer  (just checking to see if any of my 8 followers are still reading!)) mommy." Brynn usually throws a "now" on the end of her requests. Alex is now responding "sure" as his affirmative. He's moved beyond "yes" and "okay." Pretty soon he may be beyond my conversation level.
