Rainy Days

We've had a lot of them recently.

So we have to come up with new games like wearing daddy's shoes...

Playing with Grandmommy and trying on mittens...

And showing off little sandals when the sun comes out!

Hoping we see a lot more of these days soon.

Weekending

We look forward to the weekend in our house. It means more of everything, spending time with dad, playing outside, going on outings and hosting guests. The weather wasn't great here this weekend, but we made the most of it......

Alex takes his chalk drawing very seriously

Brynnie would rather get into trouble in the mulch until she heard a dog...

They had a great time tackling daddy...

And enjoyed a celebration brunch with Nana and Bapa...

And just some cuteness that I can't resist....

The twins are learning more and more words every day, they try to say more than I can count now. The one I like to hear the most is "mama," of course they one they like to say the most is "elmo." I can't compete with the little red guy.

Have a happy week!

Happy birthday mom! You are an amazing mother and Nana and we are all so lucky to have you in our lives.

Happy birthday Georgia! You are 5 years old today and we can’t wait to see you again soon. I remember that I got my ears pierced for my 5th birthday. I understand that you asked for a goldfish, a much wiser choice my dear!

Love,
Alli, Danny, Brynn & Alexander

Mother's Day

My first mother's day weekend after having the twins, I can recall being very tired and overwhelmed trying to care for two newborns. The day would've just come and gone had it not been for my thoughtful husband who came up with a book about the twins first few months, which moved me to tears. We tried to make a nice dinner and and have a bottle of wine, but the twins had other plans and needless to say it was not relaxing in the least bit.

Oh what a difference a year makes. This year the twins slept until 8am (which is really not the norm, but very thoughtful of them). Hearing them both say mama just makes mother's day so much more real for me.

We spent the weekend going to parties and dinner and just enjoying some time as a family. We went to the park and kicked the soccer ball. Brynn is a natural, Alex still prefers to smell the flowers and eat mulch.

We went to Sarah's first birthday party and enjoyed the circus theme! Brynn loves the glasses that came with the party favor, so much so that she can't stop drooling.

We broke out the water table that was one of the twins' birthday presents. The sheer glee on their faces should give you a good idea of how much they loved it.

Leaving the water table did not go over well and a tantrum of epic proportions ensued (thank you brynnie). Luckily they were easily distracted by the house that danny built for them out of the box.

Thank you for a wonderful mother's day Danny, Brynn & Alexander. I can't even imagine what next year will be like. Happy mother's day to all the mothers out there! Especially mine, you know who you are!

Swimming

The twins have loved being in the water since their very first bath.

This week they got to go swimming for the first time since last summer and I wasn't sure how they would react to a pool, but they both loved it, Brynn especially. Because Alex is a little skinny mini, he got cold and was most interested in playing with the water noodles on the side (any tips on how to get him to eat more would be welcome!)

Brynn ready to hit the pool in her butterfly suit

Everyone had a great time and we plan to make it a regular thing.

I will leave you this Thursday evening with a little cuteness!

This and That

Danny and I spent Saturday celebrating with Bapa as his high school football team was inducted into the St. Stephen's hall of fame. It was a very fun event with old school football highlights of scored touchdowns and broken tackles. It was a night of reliving high school greatness that I'm so glad I got to share with my dad.

My dad is the guy still trying to get around the offensive lineman to see the action

The twins had a great weekend under the care of their Grandmommy, Auntie Lesley and Uncle Ed. We were very excited to see them when we returned.

Have a happy week!
