NYC 2011 and Pigtails

They are both pretty fun!  Brynn's hair is finally getting long enough for me to torture her with ponytails. She's pretty cute....

And here is Alex who just had a lesson in fire safety...

We had our first family trip to New York City. We went to go see the huge Christmas tree in Rockefeller Center, the horse drawn carriages in Central Park, and FAO Schwarz. Alex slept through two out of three destinations and Brynn was really only impressed with her ability to suck on her vest until it was entirely wet.

It turns out that we didn't even need to leave the hotel for them to have a great time...

 Looking forward to the holidays.

Photo Shoot

Here are some of the photos from our impromptu photo shoot that didn't make the cut for the holiday card. I think these pictures turned out just as well as the ones we paid for last Spring. Danny can totally double as a professional photographer.

I'm sure all five readers of this blog will be anxiously waiting to see the picture that we chose. It will be coming soon to your mailbox!

Best of the iphone

Here are some recent phone photos. Sometimes I just don't have the time or energy to grab the camera, but I want something to remember a moment. They are random and in no particular order.

We are settling into our cold weather routines, breaking out coats, hats and mittens. Finding things to do inside and wishing gymnastics class lasted longer than 45 minutes. Looking forward to the next really cold spell so we can get the fireplace cracking. If we are lucky we will get some more snow!

Halloween 2011

First things first, we turned their car seats to face forward. I know, I know, the new recommendation is 2 years old, but car travel was becoming too miserable. It has made a big difference! Here they are in their new position....
Look Brynnie, we are facing forward!

Then we headed to the beach house for the Sea Witch festival, but a noreaster put a damper on those plans. They did enjoy a train ride before the rain came....
We had to make do with indoor activities like crib jumping and carving pumpkins..

And finally, the bumblebees hit the Halloween scene. Alex jumped right in walking up to doors taking candy (and giving it back in some cases). Brynn had to watch a few times, but then she was an unstoppable trick-or-treating maniac!

Happy November!

Fall

It's getting colder and the leaves are finally starting to fall. I love their little Mini Boden fleeces, which they needed the other day while playing on the deck.....

They adore ring around the rosie, and each other....

And I adore them!

The Orchard

We tried to find an orchard that was off the beaten path. We decided to check out Highland Orchard. We were pleasantly surprised with the apples..

Examining rotten apples

The pumpkins left a lot to be desired, but Alex practiced his best future album cover pose while surveying the goods...

We had the hayride all to ourselves and it was a big hit as evidenced by the tears when we had to get off at the end....

Even though we didn't come home with pumpkins, it was a pretty great October day.

Random Happenings

Just a few photos from our week. Brynn's maternal instincts have kicked in. She takes very good care of baby doll and elmo. I stumbled upon this scene where she had put blankets (really burp clothes, but oh so close) over them.

She enjoys practicing her ladylike sitting..

Alex couldn't care less about baby doll, but would rather perfect his jump shot and conduct some business....

And pull his pants down to see if anyone thinks he's funny. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

In other news... well there is none. Just looking forward to Halloween....
