The twins lived through their first earthquake and hurricane in the same week. The earthquake shook the house and woke Alex from his nap. Brynn was unfazed, the girl likes to nap!
We waited out the storm and came up with new forms of entertainment. The mummy wrap....
And biting...
But how could I stay mad at this face..
Happy Monday!

Funland
We spent the week with the family at the beach house. With five children it was chaos with intermittent calm. There was definitely a much anticipated cocktail hour(s) at the end of each day. We spent some part of every day at the beach even with storm clouds looming.
Brynn and Alex were very interested in lacrosse....
We made our first official trip to Funland. I grew up going to Funland in the summers and some of my early memories are from riding these rides, which haven't changed a lot over the years. I wasn't sure if they would enjoy it yet, but Alex started pointing and yelling before he even got out of the car.
There was some apprehension at first....
But funland lived up to its name....
Funland is tiring....
Happy 5th anniversary to us!

Brynn and Danny spotted dolphins.....

Names
I found these adorable little stools for the twins to use at their art table. I got them from Home Goods and they love them...
The best thing about having twins is watching them play together. Brynn can say Alex's name for the most part. Alex refers to himself as "knee." Not sure where that came from. But recently Alex has been calling his sister "Minnie," probably because it sounds like brynnie. It is the cutest thing ever! He can now call her out on her shenanigans, "Minnie - no, no, no," when she tries to take his toys.
But mostly they work as a team to systematically destroy the play room.
I don't have a lot of pictures this week. I've been trying to focus my energy on studying for my licensure exam. However, we are headed to the beach for 10 days full of cousins, sand, sun, and late bedtimes. I'm sure I will have a lot of good material after that trip.

Family Weekend
There is no real theme to this post. Just random bits of our life right now at 17 months and a few days. I've decided to stop using months when people ask how old the twins are. I just say they are one and a half. Once they hit 20 months I think I'll say that they are almost two. Danny thinks I should just use months indefinitely and when they turn 35 I can say that I have 420-month olds.
Brynnie's wild hair is starting to get long enough for me to play with......
She has also taken her love of hats to a new level...
We found this little umbrella stroller tucked away in the closet and it quickly became the current favorite, resulting mostly with Alex trying to play with it and Brynn commandeering it. However, there were a few moments of cooperation....
We dug in the sand on the beach....
And just enjoyed the company...
